Our guide exclusive area on the south end of Kodiak Island consistently produce large bears every year! MGS conducts its hunts in the Red Lake area.

Mileurs guide service has been guiding for brown bear on Kodiak island since the early 80's. Scott started his career as a Kodiak bear hunting guide under the tutelage of Bill Pinnel and Morris Talifson. These two legendary Kodiak bear guides taught Scott and others the proper way to conduct Kodiak brown bear hunts. Mileur's Guide Service prides itself on finding high quality male bears every season and we strive to exceed client expectation wherever we can. Our guides are seasoned in judging large brown bears and ensuring that the clients goals are met. We focus on harvesting only large male bears in order to conserve the population and ensure the future for the Kodiak brown bear population. Our guides are trained to give your trophy the best of care in the field. Brown bear hunting on Kodiak island is a dream for many die hard bear hunters across the world. Mileurs Guide Service conducts its hunts in the Red Lake area of Kodiak. It is a guide exclusive area on the south end of the island. All hunters are guaranteed a tag when you hunt with us. Kodiak brown bear hunts occur both spring and fall of every year unlike the Alaska Peninsula. Our area has produced B&C skulls and large bears ever since Pinnel and Talifson started hunting it in the mid 50's. The genetics remain strong and the population is healthy in our area. 

These are fly in hunts about 1oo miles from the town of Kodiak, AK. Hunts are 1x1 with an experienced registered guide.

  • 1996 - Fall - The second and third largest fall bears taken on the island that year.

  • 1999 - Boone & Crockett brown bear taken with a skull of 28 1/8.

  • 2000 - Boone & Crockett bear with a 28 3/4 skull.

  • 2001 - Second largest brown bear taken on the island with a B&C skull of 29 3/16.

  • 2003 - Three Boone & Crockett browns taken.

  • 2006 - Spring 9'-8" Kodiak brown bear skull 28 4/16    Fall 10 footer B&C skull 28 3/4

  • 2009 - Three Boone & Crockett bears taken scoring - 28 1/4, 28 1/2,  28 3/4

  • 2010 - Two Boone & Crockett brown bears scoring 28 0/0, 28 0/0

  • 2011 - Spring - One Boone & Crockett brown bear at 28 10/16 - third largest in 2011.

  • 2011 - Fall - Boone & Crockett brown bear with skull of 28 8/16

  • 2012 - Spring - Brown bear harvested with 27 11/16 skull.

  • 2012 - Fall - Brown Bear harvested with a 27 13/16 skull.

  • 2013 - Spring - Brown bear taken with a B&C skull of 28 5/8
